If you struggle to walk far outdoors, our three-wheeled bikes are a fun and friendly way to explore Sheffield parks. You need to be able to travel to the park and come on the ride with a friend or family member. You are the passengers, we do the cycling!
We will meet you at or near the park. Our pilot (cycling volunteer) will do the cycling, all you need to do is get seated on the comfy seat for two at the front of bike, then sit back and enjoy the ride.

Where would you like to go?
- The Botanical Gardens has varied and beautiful planting, with flowers in bloom all year round. Cafe and accessible toilet.
- Endcliffe Park follows the Porter Brook through woodland, past historic dams and weirs, and is also a lively local park. We can ride up the valley as far as Shepherds Wheel. You are sure to see ducks, dogs and children, though very lucky to see a kingfisher! Cafe and accessible toilet.
- Weston Park. A Victorian park, smaller but with plenty to see including a lake, bandstand and people playing tennis. It’s possible to combine a ride with a visit to Weston Park Museum (free entry) which has a cafe and an accessible toilet.
- General Cemetery (Sharrow). Where heritage meets nature, the General Cemetery is now a fascinating and peaceful green oasis with huge beautiful trees. Wonderful place to enjoy autumn colours, and also cool on a hot summer day. No cafe or toilet. Can be combined with the Botanical Gardens.
How it works and requesting a ride
- Send an enquiry via our contact form. We will email you back to arrange a time and meeting place that works for everyone..
- A few days before the ride you will receive an email with contact details for your ‘pilot’ (cycling volunteer).
- On the day our pilot will contact you by text or phone to confirm that all is fine and meet you as agreed. The ride will be at a slow pace, pausing wherever you wish, and happy to stop for a hot drink when there’s a cafe. We will check with you what is a good length of time to be out. At the end of the ride we will return to the meeting place
Useful to know
- Passengers need to be able to shuffle backwards to get onto the seat. Please watch the video below. For safety reasons the pilot will sit on the bike whilst you and your companion get seated. Seats have lap belts and we have a warm blanket. In Spring and Autumn we recommend that you wear warm clothing and bring a hat and scarf.
- Our tri-bikes are designed for two passengers of about-average weight. We can offer one-passenger rides if more appropriate. Please chat to us in advance if you have any questions.
- All our pilots are trained volunteers who have had DBS (safeguarding) checks. We have full insurance. At the moment we are only able to offer rides to adult passengers.
- We like to take photos of our rides out and share these on our social media. We will ask you before we do and it is fine to say no.
- We may need to rearrange if there is bad weather, sometimes this is on the day. Very rarely we may need to rearrange for other reasons.
- Love Park rides are a new addition to our core service of rides for care home residents, and are designed to be ‘one offs’. Due to the capacity of our volunteer team, we cannot commit to regular frequent rides for individuals. If you enjoyed the ride, we would love to take you out again, but this may need to be a few months later.
What we need from you
- A reliable contact mobile number and email of whoever will provide the means of travel to the park. We will send you a contact form to complete.
- We understand that in some circumstances you may need to cancel. Should this be the case, please give your pilot as much notice as possible to respect our volunteer’s time.
